Journal Club for 8 January 2023, 9PM UTC

We just finished a great journal club on Electricity-Driven Microbial Protein Production: Effect of Current Density on Biomass Growth and Nitrogen Assimilation". Thanks again @NarcisP for patiently answering all our questions!

We'll pick up journal club again in the new year, with our first session on Monday the 8th of January 2024! Please share any suggestions for papers in this thread! Depending on the number of suggestions we may have a vote to decide the next paper. Hopefully we can give ourselves a week or so to read the paper before journal club starts. Anyone is welcome to join, even if you haven't read the paper, and suggestions are open to anything related to microbial protein!

Hope everyone had an excellent Christmas. Have a safe Storm Gerrit if you’re in the UK tomorrow!

Any ideas for a journal paper to read for next week? Looking at the other thread, here are some options:

  • - Hydrogen Oxidizing Bacteria as Novel Protein Source for Human Consumption: An Overview
  • - [Production of Endotoxin-Free Microbial Biomass for Food Applications by Gas Fermentation of Gram-Positive H2-Oxidizing Bacteria](https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsfoodscitech.0c00129)
  • - [Water splitting-biosynthetic system with CO2 reduction efficiencies exceeding photosynthesis](https://dash.harvard.edu/handle/1/27304973)
  • @Martin @CamDavidsonPilon @NarcisP @Hoff @danwchan Any suggestions for a paper to discuss on Monday?

    @“Gerrit”#p116

@"Gerrit"#p116 @"Gerrit"#p116 All good papers, but [the second](https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsfoodscitech.0c00129)seems most directly relevant to my current work, so it gets my vote.

@Martin sounds good to me, let’s discuss that paper tomorrow night.

Anyone is welcome to join, even if you haven't read the paper!

@Martin @NarcisP @CamDavidsonPilon @danwchan @RobJ @Rafik @Hoff Journal club is in half an hour at Join conversation . Even if you haven’t read the paper - all is welcome!

    Sorry I couldn’t make it!
