Biopolymer 3D printing

Does anyone have any experience with PHA/PHB or other biopolymers - either producing them via fermentation or printing with them?

3D printing is clearly one of the tools that we’ll be using to build low cost bioreactors. SunShine is a mechanical engineering genius. He’s been trying to create biopolymer to improve the sustainability of his 3D printing.

As well as being one of our HOB’s of interest, C. Necator is one of the main organisms used to grow PHA & PHB, so I thought we may be able to help each other. I’m arranging a meeting between SunShine and Joshua of Neo-Fossil, but it would be good to involve more people if anyone’s interested, or knows any experts in this area.

PHA filament is getting a lot more affordable and readily available, so I am planning on testing printing with it some time soon.

Ooh, do let us know how it goes. I have basically regretted purchasing pretty much every filament I have bought that wasn’t Prusament so I’d really like to know the details of something that works.
